Finding Parts

The basic information that HPT may need to get you the right part.

A brand name, model, and serial number are a great help and may be all that is needed. Bringing your component in or having an HPT representative see the application at your site are often good solutions.

HOSES

STAMPED – Stamped is an acronym to help you remember 7 important factors

Size – Inside Diameter, Length, (Outside Diameter if relevant).
Temperature – Internal and External; normal, minimum, and maximum.
Application – What does the hose do?
Material – The product to be conveyed.
Pressure – Normal working pressure and burst pressure.
Ends – Do you need a quick coupler? What type, size, thread?
Delivery – When and where do you need it?

VALVES

• Air or Hydraulic
• What does it operate
• Number of positions
• Pressure
• Do you need a built in relief
• Center Position type – Open, closed, Tandem, metered, etc
• Port size and style – Subbase mount, cartridge, inline, etc
• Delivery – When and where do you need it?

CYLINDERS

• Air or Hydraulic
• Pressure
• Bore
• Stroke
• Rod diameter / thread
• Mounting style
• Delivery, when and where do you need it?

HYDRAULIC PUMPS

• GPM @ RPM
• Pressure rating
• Type – gear, vane, piston, etc
• Port size and style
• Mounting pattern
• Shaft size and type
• Direction of rotation
• Delivery, when and where do you need it?

HYDRAULIC MOTORS

• Displacement
• Torque
• GPM @ RPM
• PSI rating
• Shaft size and type
• Port size and type
• Delivery, when and where do you need it?

VALVES

• Air or Hydraulic
• Is the element a spin on or drop in type?
• Pressure rating
• Flow rating
• Port size and type
• Physical dimensions
• Holes in both ends or just one?
